Greg, any thought of sorting cans and bottles for recycling? If we could, I think that would be a huge PR boost (as well as being good for the environment!). There is a non-profit group here in Moab that has tried to set up recycling efforts during EJS for the last few years (with varying levels of success). The gal who runs it has been very anti-jeep in the past, but last year she praised everyone involved with the PSH cleanup, and wrote a letter of thanks in the local paper. Working together with them, or at least letting them know what we are doing, would be very positive for us. It is things like this that help to change people's attitudes about us!

PM or email me if you would like their contact info.

Jeff

Jeff work with me on this. I already called the Moab recycling center today to see what they had to offer. They only had 44 gallon recycling bins which may or may not help. I know who you are referring to about coordinating the recycle clean up. I have her number and will give her a call tomorrow. Sounds like she will be a strong partner to work with.

If we can't get recycling bins, I suppose we could just use some large trash bags and sort the stuff ourselves. Let me know know I can help.

Are they going to empty the dumpster and pottys every day for that price?

Id hate to see everyone donate for something that might end up being nice for the first day but overflowing for the next 9? It wont take long before the drunks have the pottys so nasty that no one will go in them.

I will be sending what I can to help. Just kind of wondering

Come on folks, we're over half way to our goal!

Come on guys! This was doing really good the first couple of days and has petered off... Maybe it's gone down because of Joe and his selfish (J/K!!) raffle, but this is also for a good cause. ;)

I challenge other business' on RME to match or exceed my first donation of $250. If anyone exceeds my current donation, I will match the difference with a second donation. If you are in this type of business, this benifits you! If they take this away, then you won't have a customer base anymore....-_-

I'll second that challenge, with one difference. I challenge any individual (meaning you are donating in your name, not your business name) to match or exceed my original donation of $200. I'll also match the difference with a second donation.

This activity does benefit all of us. EJS is the biggest event in NA (that I know of anyway). If we can police our own, that will make big strides for us in the eyes of the big greenie population.

Still waiting on word back from Rusted about the stuff getting emptied...........

I didn't drop the ball, I have been out of town. I will call the BLM to discuss that on Monday. I did talk to the Moab recycling center, and am working on coordinating having the recyclable items (in their own bins) removed every morning.

BLM will be getting back to me. I guess whatever the arrangement was last year it was not a problem, but I asked them to find out what the agreement was on both the dumpster and the outhouses.

I heard from the BLM today. Both the dumpsters and the outhouses are suppose to be taken care of twice during that time.

I'll take you up on that.
I'm sending $50 now and another $150 on March 16 and more if possible:)

The checks are set to be sent from bill pay at my credit union.

When is the deadline for this?? Has the running total been updated lately?

The running total is pretty close to being correct, there were 1 or 2 small donations that still need to be added. I posted up on POR a little about this, I'm going to post a dedicated thread tonight to get more $$ coming in and make people aware that the cleanup will be happening again this year.
