My wife and I and another couple went to check out Elephant hill and the Confluence overlook. The weather was great and scenery fantastic. It was my first time down to the Monticello area and loved every minute of it. Our first afternoon we went around the Bridger Jack mesa and what was to be a quick and easy trip turned into a fun and exciting time. Big rocks had washed down on the road and we had fun getting around them. The next day we went up Elephant hill and out to the Confluence overlook great views and fun trail, form there we went south down through beef basin and on down to Blanding. Coming home on Sunday we stopped at Moab to run spring canyon and hey joe but as we got to the hey joe trail it started to rain. We instead went out to a over look where one of our party slipped on the wet rocks and split open her arm. After a trip back to moab for stitches we headed home. I was pleasantly surprised at the end of your pics to see your friends arm. Not that I like the carnage, but more a little morbid curiosity to see how bad it was.:D Hope she's OK. Nice pics, definately need to go to Elephant. :)

elephant hill is always fun! The switch backs at the begining are great. As a kid the part where you back up a tight section by a cliff always scared me a little.:)

Our scout troop camped there in the Maze District when I was a young teenager and I have always wanted to go back;) Elephant Hill is unforgetable.

Anyone wanna plan a trip:greg:

We (son and I) did Elephant Hill and the confluence overlook for the first time last summer. Great trip and very pretty scenery. I've always heard about it and can't believe I waited so long to experience it. Definitely a must do.

It turned out to be not bad nothing broken just split open and required 5 stiches. Slick rock really earns its name when wet.
