Emissions question? Jtruck sb350 swap

I want to buy a j-truck and put my sb350 chevy motor in it.

My question is what would I have to do to get it to pass admissions the one Im looking at has a cat do you think that I could get a sb350 to pass that or not? Any help appreciated. Thanks

What year is the truck? That's all the state is looking at.

I want to say it is an 88-89 not pos. 350 from 77 chevy pickup.

If I remember correctely, 1983 was the last year you could swap motors from a different brand vehicle and still get everything to pass. Newer than that, the motor has to be a option on the vehicle you are swapping it into.
