Epic Brewing

Has anyone had a brew from Epic yet? I had a few last week and I have to say I am impressed. Particularly with their Belgian Wit and Calloway Porter.
Also, I blame Cody for turning me into a beer snob. DAMN YOU CODY!!!

Yes, and you are welcome.

They like to experiment with hopps and some of the results are pretty bitter--which isn't really my speed. My other criticism is that they do make some cool beers that I would like to try, but often times I'm not in the mood to hammer down a $16 bomber of 8-10% beer so I opt for something smaller.

I enjoy a good hoppy beer like an IPA. On their lower point beers, the prices are reasonable I think at $4-6. Best to share I found since they are 635ml bottles.

It's not necessarily the price I'm worried about, but rather the size and alcohol content. I don't like to drink and drive, so adding a $25 cab ride makes it an 'inconvenient' beer if anything.

Ah yes, gotcha. I bought a number at their store and brought them home. Easier that way.

I'm a big fan of tequila's too. The only problem is that there is a major gap in cost between a good tequila and a shitty one. If I could get a good bottle of tequila for 20-30 bucks I would do it, but the few you can get here are 80+. I have a decent bottle Don Julio Anejo that I've been enjoying for a bit, and previous to that I had a bottle of 1800 Anejo but I wasn't nearly as impressed with it. I probably won't buy any more until I get back to San Diego where the selection of good tequila's is much better and much more affordable.

Not a fan of Silver Tequila's, or Patron in general, but to each their own.

Did someone say Porter? I will drink any porter that can be found. Love the stuff. I'll have to check this place out... growler for the trip home*. :D

I stopped by on my way South and grabbed their Copper Cone pale ale, 825 Stout and their IPA (not sure on the name). The Copper Cone was most excellent! Can't wait to try the rest

I'll have to try them. I'm quite impressed with the local brews, and rarely consume the trinity (BudCoorsMiller). Admittedly, I prefer the higher content brews for home consumption. I also need to try Bohemien as well. Drive by there all too often without stopping.

Someone left an Epic Brewing Intermountain Wheat on my doorstep last night. I seem to have my very own Beer Fairy... I'm having this beer right now and find it tasty, not too hopped, and on par with other wheats I've had recently. The 22 oz bottle is big, but I'm thirsty... ;) My wife tasted it and certainly prefers it to some of the other strong beers I've brought home of late. Now if I could figure out who my Beer Fairy is... They have good taste...

I had the Imperial Red Ale and Kori had the Sour Apple Saison. I quite enjoyed the Red ale, sorta a mix between hop rising and killian red. The sour apple tasted like a lot of belgium whites with a apple twang. Kori really liked it, just couldn't handle that much beer
