Done with my second trip with my current set-up.
First trip over memorial went ok. We got a fair amount of really wet snow. It was enough to collapse my $99 walmart awning.576880_436695859683370_1132957363_n.jpg
So I ordered a 2 meter ARB awning. Since the tent folds off to the passenger side of the truck, I wanted the awning to be off the back of the truck. But just over 6 feet wide is too wide to mount along the back. So, I built 2 different mounts. First is in storage position along the drivers side of the bed. awning.jpg
It is quite light, so I just pull it out of the storage mounts and move it to the mounts on the back. Even in some high winds this weekend, it was awesome. Fabric never flapped, or any other issues. I staked both down poles and added one support rope.

Fridge and tent were awesome as always.

You can park down from Steep hollow aways. I've taken my 9' tent trailer up there but I don't know if I'd even take a car hauler trailer up that road.

No really tight turns... but it is fairly rocky. Like Mark said, maybe a small high clearance trailer, but I wouldn't haul anything larger up. But, that is just me. :)
And kinda the whole point of my set-up is so that I can camp in realtive comfort anywhere I can get the truck.

4th trip of the season is done. Same set up as before, but I have the wiring all cleaned up and I finally got my box built to house the lights and switches.
This past weekend we camped up right hand fork (logan canyon) headed in the direction of mount logan, but took the lower road down to the flat north and just a little east of mt logan.

Here you can see the box that I built to house a stereo, 2 12 volt outlets, a volt gauge, and the switches that control the lights, stereo power, water pump, and a spare for future use.

Here you can see the speakers. 2 6x9s and 2 4" speakers. And if you look close you can see the LED light strips.

I mounted the box at the rear of the truck under the tent. Mounted to the metal frame that the tent sits on.

And here are a few pics of the old road.

Overall I am very pleased with this set-up. There is still just a little finish work that I need to do to the tent frame before I break everything down and have it powder coated. But the more I use it, the more I think that I am going to wait till this winter before I tear anything apart.
Other things I still have to do:
Build shower head mount and swivel.
Rear bar on upper cargo rack.
Some sort of more permanent mount for the solar panel.

And if I could figure a place I'd like it. I'd like to have a semi permanent mounted propane tank, so I can stop buying the small coleman ones. But I have not found a way/place to mount it yet that I like.
Then maybe some sort of water heater.

4 days now on a separate marine/rv battery at 27 deg. and as of this morning it is at 11.8 volts.
You probably know this but here are some suggestions for batteries. A fully discharged battery will read 11.7 v or less and if you wait until then to recharge it will drastically reduce the batteries life. I always recharge my batteries at 50% discharge which is 12.2 v. Here is the list, 100% = 12.6 v or higher, 75% = 12.4 v, 50% = 12.2 v, 25% = 12.0 v, 0% = 11.7 v.
