What is Expedition Utah? Expedition Utah is a website and forum dedicated to vehicle assisted exploration of Utah's beautiful and varied backcountry. We strive to provide an online repository of information to help people plan their next adventures and a forum to let them discuss it with others who share their passion. Our monthly Summits are designed to move that experience off the computer and into the real world by highlighting aspects of Utah's history by visiting museums, historic sites and joining other groups who share our passion in different ways.

Cool, I'll try to make it. I haven't been to one of these meetings before. What should I expect? Will it be a tour of the aerospace museum, or will it be a meeting to plan future events, or is it just a meet and greet thing?

It really is a great museum. I've been going since I was very young and have watched it grow. I was up there a month or so ago and they have a number of new exhibits covering the dawn of the jet age and the Korean War that are top notch.

I just got done reading a great book called Skunk Works by Ben R. Rich, the organizations second director, and it got me really stoked to get up to Hill again. Four Skunk Works aircraft are on display there, the P-80 Shooting Star, America's first jet fighter and the reason the Skunk Works was founded. The F-104, America's first supersonic fighter aircraft. The Jetstar, the worlds first corporate jet. And of course, the SR-71 Blackbird.
I know its a bit away, but who else is planning on being there?

Count me in. I hope they have a F-86 Sabre Jet, I saw them in action in Korea, and worked at the B-O-P plant in K.C.K that made them.

I've got a scout campout that weekend. If we get outta there early enough on Saturday morning, then I'll be there. But getting 18 kids to pack up their springbar tent always takes 2 hours, when it should only take 10 min.

Thats too bad, Steve.
After the Aerospace Museum if we have time there is the Roy Museum right next door that we can check out. I've always meant to pop into but never have.
