Expo Suburban??

So question for you guys, is a Suburban too big to be a capable expo rig?

I picked up a super clean '94 6.5 Turbo Diesel for a daily driver and for trips, light pulling (when I build a rig that is) and I am thinking it could be a sweet rig.

I am thinking a small lift and BF Goodrich A/T tires, winch you know, the basics...

Any thoughts?

Do you live on a huge lot, that is the 3rd full size you have "picked up" in the last month...

Does it have the FF 14 bolt or the semi-float? not that the semi-float is a bad axle but if it has the semi float, and you are going to re-gear it is probably cheaper and easier to buy a FF and re-gear the FF to put under it with a detriot. (cause if you have a FF 14 bolt you put a detriot in it, that is pretty much the reason to have that axle...)

There are two different size drum brakes the huge and the super huge, I had the super huge on my bronco, my father-in-law has the huge on a SF and a FF (the full float is going to go under his burb... eventually) The super huge would be great for towing heavy things like bronco's on trailers...

I can't stand gm seats so throw some ford seats in the front if you have a ford butt like me...

good score (3rd good score in a month for ya)

it is only the 2nd full size I picked up this month! haha and 2 of them will be at Ryan's garage while I work to make them one. The F350 fell through...

I have to check on the axle, I believe it to be a FF, but until I pull the hub cover I don't know for sure.

Score on the burb! Look at the rpo codes in the glove box and see if it has the G80. If it does, I can show you how to lock it up at will when wheelin'.

Oh, and the best way to tell if it's the ff14 is to look at it.

I had a '99 K2500 and loved it. I ran 255/85r16 and 285/75r16's on it, I think I may have also run 295/75r16's. A gentle tweak on the t-bars was all it needed.

Took mine lots of places, including down the dugway to June's Bottom (April 2002).

I always thought the 6.5td was decent, and have thought of finding one in a '95 2door tahoe (blazer!) I recall my friend Shannon using one to tow his rig to Moab. Love the mileage too! I've driven from Draper to Mission Viejo, CA on one tank in my 8 passenger turbo-diesel 4x4, pretty groovy.
