Do you know what size tube the 1.980" o.d. races would fit snugly into?

just to futher expand on what guys are saying, you have to have the tubing machined for the races to fit, thats why its easier to just get it from RL...and as my suggestion, if you plan to use a 35"+ tire I would suggest designing it with two trailer spindles...if you search around JU and PBB there are quite a few cases where the spindles have snapped, a lot of these were designed "properly" too where the latch bears some of the load too...thats my $.02 :D

That's gay....

thats alright, I would rather have a gay tire carrier that kept my tire on my bumper, then a badass one that sent my spare 35"+ tire flying down the freeway at 60+ mph ;) (didja see what the semi tire did to that minivan a couple days ago, not to mention killing the driver :-\ )

hell, I'd like to see pics of any of this stuff. Been finding it difficult to find good clear pics of a good tire carrier that swings out. :(

You know why there's no pics of this right?

Either the tire weighed 4,000lbs or it was built wrong.... theres absolutly no reason a solid 1" chromoly shaft (spindle) would snap holding 100lbs...
