I grew up on this canyon and it irritates me when they close it during the winter. I would ride snowmobiles up this canyon atleast once a week for years, even many nights too. My boys and I would take the jeep up to the gates every time it snowed and would have a blast doing it.
There are two gates blocking access, a lower one near the ponds and one by the fire break road. A select few have keys to the second gate but the sunny sides of the canyon melt quickly leaving your only option to run your snowmobiles on the road or go all the way around from Bountiful.
