I think we need a thread to share your favorite random reading on the internet.

It’d be really cool if this stayed out of political BS

Read this one a number of years ago on Jalopnik, and while I’m not an aviation or military guy, it’s a great story:

I rarely take my phone to the facilities, instead reading magazines like "Bugle" from the RMEF or paperbacks. As a diehard Fantasy/Sci-Fi guy, I often gravitate that way. My recent viewing of Amazon's "Wheel of Time" prompted me to return to Jordan's 14-book series of the same name to see how badly Amazon butchered it. Man did they do a hatchet job on the first book. Now I'm up to the sixth book of the ten I have on the shelf and planning for a trip to the used book store to see if I can rustle up the last four. Not long ago I read "On Wings of Eagles" by Ken Follet - a great story about Ross Perot's experiences in Iran. It's a pretty good read.

I read almost exclusively non fiction.
Shop Class as Soul Craft is one I reread recently and it's great every time.
Currently working on Antifragile by Nassim Taleb. Next on the list is Grit by Angela Duckworth.

One book that I keep coming back to is House Of Rain by Craig Childs. Really well written, ought to be required reading if you like the desert southwest and native archeology.
