I think anyone can get "into it" fairly easy...

However, without a firm background in ju-jitsu, boxing, or wrestling (like our boy Olly here), you'll just get beaten up alot.

Alot of times, it doesn't matter how mean you are or how hard you can punch. Most of the fights end up on the mat with one guy being choked out or tapping out, am I right Olly?

Well I did get to my black belt before I quit karate ha ha. I have been wanting to start training again its just a money issue. I also was a wrestler in high school... My friends and I have "fight night" ,at our apartment every Friday, it is just boxing so there isnt any ground and pound and I am always getting beat up, I have taken some big hits but can gladly say I have never been knocked out (knock on wood). I am usually the one that gets stuck with the worst fight of the night as well. The last guy I boxed was 6'5 220, I'm nearly 6'1 and 165ish, I stood my ground and got hit with some bombs and landed a few as well. Obviously he won due to the reach advantage.

I just enjoy doing it, its kind of fun.

There is a local MMA training center down here on riverside drive, If your serious go talk to the guys there they can get you the info you need.
