Flaming Gorge fishing results

Rounded up the extra bodies for the Flaming Gorge trip last week. Could not have asked for better November weather! Fishing was good- not great. Over two days members of the group landed about 6 Lakers in 20+ range, plus the largest burbot I have caught todate.

water is down about 10' from last year. I think water surface temp was in low 40's (and air in mid-30s with dorky brother jumped in.)

Dawn and dusk were always the best times to be on the lake, great colors and the wind is typically down. Thanks for sharing the pics

Burbot are a member of the cod family and are very good to eat.

Love the Gorge. Used to spend a lot more time there then I do now. Last few years has most been deer hunt and fall fishing.

Burbot bash started the night we left.

And yes, burbot are very good. I like them breaded and deep fried or cut into chunks and boiled (just until floats) in salt water then dipped in butter.
