Was camped up on skyline drive when along came an amazing lightning storm. Got a few great photos of the lightning.

It can be scary, I've never been to afraid of the weather up there, but I grew up on that mountain so I probably have a false sense of security.

Great pics Curt, I've always wanted to try photographing a thunderstorm. You did well! The first one is my favorite, with the different levels of light around the bolt.

I love pictures of lightening, I am never fast enough though to snap a picture. Did you wait an then hit the button or just have it take multiple pictures an hit the button randomly? I am a crappy photographer though, so that doesn't help.

It's actually a long exposure. No need to be quick when you can be real slow. The shutter on these was open for about a minute.
