I did support for panasonic during the winter olympics, I basically filled in the gaps for their setup in their VIP lounge when they threw their corporate parties. When we were doing their TV setup, they showed up with a semi full of their gear. The literally brought 1.3 more plasmas than they planned on using because they knew they were going to have losses. They took three plasma TV out of the box and two of them had gigantic pink lines going horizontally through the picture and the third one didn't power up. They took them out to the dock and put them in the trash compaction dumpster, it almost made me pass out!!

I guess things have gotten better in transportation and durability of the sets but damn, that was a hard sight for my eyes.

Ok guys, bringing this back up...recommend a good LCD in the 37"+ range. My mom is getting one for my Dad and she has been considering these two (I know nothing on TVs) so any suggestions would be appreciated.

Toshiba

or

Sharp

oh, and she is needing to get this QUICK (like within the next couple days) so we are looking for something local (not a special one of a kind special order item that will be here in 10-12 weeks :D)
