Say you could get a 1985 Ford Bronco for very cheep. Is there anything about this rig that would make me want to work with?

I know it has a 302 that is a sweet runner, I think it is TBI.
I'm pruty sure there is a 9" in th rear.
It has a sweet low range. (no idea about the trany and case).

Is this worth building into a crawler??

It has a 9" in the rear? I thought that all TTB Bronco's had the 8.8?

IIRC '85 is a split year for 9"/8.8
Yes, some TTB Broncos had 9"

I have a friend that needs the tailgate.

I dont think Ford ever used a TBI in a truck. They were always MPI as far as I know. It more than likely has one of those variable venturi feedback carbs. EFI was an option on the 302 in 85 (the first year) The vin code for a EFI engine is N and the code for carb is F(engine code should be the last letter before the serial #portion). The tranny could be a 435 or maybe a 4 speed overdrive. Transfer case should be a NP208.

I've got a buddy selling a Ford Bronco ('88 I think) for real cheap. And I know it's got EFI. It does have tranny issues though I think.

If you're intersted, his name is John (435) 753-1892
