Ford c6 tech question

I need to switch my adapter and tail shaft on my c6 for a shorter one. I dont know anything about trannys so Im wondering if someone on here knows how involved it is and if I should just take it in and have it done. I really dont want to and Im hoping to do it with the tranny in the Scout still.

I could not say how extensive it is but I know a guy in slc that only charged me 150.00 to swap the guts on a 2wd that I had into a 4wd case but this was a few years ago

Cheston, the best thing you could do is swap out all the ford stuff and go chevy. LOL, you wouldn't have all these complcated problems then.
