Ok im droping a 91 ford 5.8 into my new buggy project if I can find the correct bellhousing for my scout t19. I found an adaptor plate from AA but my truck im pulling the motor out of has one of those stupid 1 pice transmisson/bellhousings. I was told that any 4 speed tranny would work so I went to pic and pull today and pulld one from a late 70's and got it home to find out it was the wrong bolt pattern for my block.....
Does anyone know the year of the bellhousing that fit my 91 windsor to a 4 speed tranny???
Thanks in advance.

You need a Ford smallblock belhousing. The one you got is likely the bigblock pattern. It came from a 351M or 400M truck right? Just find one from a windsor equipped truck(most if not all 80s era smallblock ford trucks) The 300ci strait six Ford trucks shold also have a bellhousing you can use. Have you concidered running a Ford T19 and eliminating the need for an adapter. I think I have read that the scout granny gear can be put in the Ford case.

Ive considerd it actually.... If I could mate my scout 300 to it I would do it in a heartbeat (its about as built and a 300 can get) but im not sure if it can be done due to the fact that my 300 is the texas bolt pattern like the dana 20's are....
I didnt realise that there was a big block 351. Im sure thats what I ended up grabing.... oh well guess its back to the scrap yard.

Hmmm guess im going to have to do a little price checking this next week. If I can do a ford t19 and bellhousing cheaper than the AA kit then thats the way I might go.... Doing a little searching I found out that I can bolt up my transfer case to a ford t 18 that was mated to a dana 20 So that may be a possibility also... If only the t18 didnt weigh so darn much. lol....

Does a ford T19 or t18 mated to a dana 20 even exist? I think your original plan may be best. Transfer case adapters are way more expensive than belhousing adapter plates.

What???? Go with the T18 it has a lower 1st gear, what is the length of the input shaft on the tranny you have now? I might have the bellhousing you need.

The T18-T19 are very similar so you might be able to swap the output shaft and adapter into the T18. The real difference is that the T19 has a taller 1st gear that's syncronized, I don't care for them just for that.

Scout T19 wide ratio tranny had the 6.32 first ratio and there are rare Ford T19s with 6.32 first (old F800s).

Yes but they are not that common, I have a friend with a Scout T19 he's not very happy with. It always seems to me that T19's are good for F-350's with tall tires, and nothing else.

I actually really like my scout t19... The super low granny and 4 to 1 transfer case allows me to run 4.56 with bigger tires and have no problems crawling. Im also hoping that with a v 8 instead of a straight 6 I can run it around the dunes a little better... Yes I do like speed at times lol....
im going to the pick and pull today to return the bellhousing I got. If I cant find the right one this time I may take you up on that bellhousing...
thanks

After reading through myinfo i realised it was jeep that had the t18 with the dana 20 that is a direct bolt on to my dana 300 so im thinking the ford t18 wont work.... oh well back to the junk yard :)

If you do go that route, I'd buy your scout wide T-19 from you. I have had too many slip away from me.

Good Luck,

Went to the yard and was able to locate it for the correct bellhousing.
A1 just let me exchange it for the right one. While I was there I found 3 different toy front axle housing and one even still had the shafts in it lol... To bad toy axles wont work for me. There was also a ford front dana 60 in there minus the knuckles and shafts.... What a waste oh well.....
