Went on mini U4 fence fixing up at Forest Lake, then a few of us headed up MEG

I haven't eaten yet or something so I don't really remember names... I didn't get my camera out until MEG, but there were tons of cameras so I'm sure someone will post pics of Forest.

I didn't put a coat on until we were getting near the top of MEG (10,000Ft according to Google Earth.) Considering how much concern there was about my truck, the trip up Forest Lake was fairly uneventful. My understanding is that the trail has gotten wider and the wide rocky turn to the left, not far up, would have been a problem if I'd had to go up the left side. I've got the truck posed on the area I'm talking about coming back down but even perching it where I wanted on the slick rocks was little tricky. I think I could do it in the dry but by the end of the day when I got those pictures every rock out there was slicked with mud. There was one snag up near the lake that did take me a few trys and a little skinny-pedal to get over.

For my open/lsd, 32" shod, former urban-wheeler, MEG was harder. I'll take tight clearances over no traction any day of the week and all the loose rock on the trail made getting over even smallish boulders a trial. Again, only two that made me reverse course for another try but one of them, with two fairly large rocks staggered and the truck swimming in a sea of loose skippers, had me wondering if I was going to get past. Liberal throttle application and some spotting got me over it.

It was a good time. I'll need to get an Airpump so I don't have to drive all the way to 15 to get air. And some taller tires... and some traction devices front and rear... and some lift. Maybe a winch... Till then - let me know if anyone’s going to camp before they close the trails...

you betcha, hardcore difficult project lol. Instead of going up MEG we headed up that trail that ends up on the front side of Timp. \m/

You guys had to be freezing before the rain turned to snow.
Freezing! And we didn't get our stupid pnchos on til after we were already soaked! Oh well though, good times!
I am still surprised about that huge drop, I thought for sure the entire side of his truck would be in the mud
