Have you read how they are blaming eveyone and everything except the gunman! The news drives me nuts when no personal responsibility is ever given or taken.

I found it pretty predictable that his name would be mideastern. It will be very interresting to hear how it was planned, sounds like two others were in on it.

On a totally different (maybee) note, why is it ignorance talking when you see mideastern individuals bombing, shooting, killing, americans time after time to generalize them all? I understand there are some good people in these countries or from these countries, but I also understand many of us being sick of hearing about, seeing Americans killed by their bretheren. It is human nature for better or worse to lump them all together. I don't think it makes you ignorant, just human.

I find it ironic that you refer to 'Americans being killed by their bretheren', yet ask if it's bad to just lump "them all" together.

What is it? Is he our brother, or is he in the "them all" category?

Care to sharre a link where it is believed that there might be two more involved? If that is the update, I have not seen it.

At least six months ago, Hasan came to the attention of law enforcement officials because of Internet postings about suicide bombings and other threats, including posts that equated suicide bombers to soldiers who throw themselves on a grenade to save the lives of their comrades.

Hasan recently was involved in a spat with another Fort Hood soldier residing in his apartment complex, apparently related to his Muslim beliefs.

His anger was noted by a classmate, who said Hasan "viewed the war against terror" as a "war against Islam."

In an interview with The Washington Post, Hasan's aunt, Noel Hasan of Falls Church, Va., said he had been harassed about being a Muslim in the years after the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks and he wanted to get out of the Army. She said he had sought a discharge for several years, and even offered to repay the cost of his medical training.


Pretty clear what his motives were. I believe that the definition of terrorist is •S: (n) terrorist (a radical who employs terror as a political weapon; usually organizes with other terrorists in small cells; often uses religion as a cover for terrorist activities)

Sounds like terrorism to me.

^One person's opinion. Hasan had his car vandalised by a recently returned military soldier who was upset over a bumper sticker on Hasan's car, read "Alah is Love". They soldier removed the sticker and keyed Hasan's car.

I couldn't help but notice in several articles and on the news they bring up that Hasan has been ridiculed ever since 9/11. That's gotta mess with one's head over several years, and certainly could cause resentment.

Similarities to other shootings? Bullies push the weak too far, the weak rise up and go 'postal'? Undoubtedly Hasan has political/religious influence in today's worldwide situation that didn't help at all either.

Simply put, Hasan freaked out and many people are now moarning the loss of their family members and friends. It was a discusting act.

Well I will tell you something. Have you ever been over there. Feet on the ground? I was on the ground over there a few times BEFORE 9/11/2001 and I can admit feeling distinctly like I had a target on my back. So the hatred was there even before the 1991 Gulf War. Perhaps it was a feeling based on my military training, or maybe just a hunch based on the hateful glares. And I will also state, I went out of my way when visiting other countries to learn some pleasantries, and some of the things that offend folks, so I wouldn't offend out of ignorance.

So now, we have yet another issue with someone that happens to have a middle eastern name, or faith, but you are saying we can't make an assumption based off of the same issues with the same results yet again?

In the above statement about Hasan trying to get out of the service, over the course of 8 years there had to be plenty of ways for that to happen. I can understand the ridicule he must have received, Then again he also caught the attention of the FBI for postings and comments...

I'm not going to say I have a hatred for all the mideast, or all muslims, that would be arrogant and possibly even racist. But I do get tired of the apologists always jumping up and calling the rest of us ignorant. Its perfectly acceptable to dump on the predominant faiths of this country but we dare not offend Islam as a whole, when repeatedly, we see the same pattern running...

And yes, I have had friends that were muslim. And I KNOW they denounced the 9/11 attacks, and I KNOW they found ways to keep from going on deployments. So Hasan's reactions were truly beyond the pale...

I certainly don't want to be an apologist on behalf of someone who pulled the trigger against 40+ American soldiers gearing up to head overseas..

I do fell that there are better things to do than post the type of comments left by Midvale XJ, which are just ridiculous IMO. That is all. Maybe not ignorant per se, but arrogant as you mentioned is a good word.

I agree that this guy could've gotten out if he really wanted to. Also, no I have not spent time in any military training facilities or on the other side of the pond with a target on my back. But I am deeply grateful to those that have and do go down those roads.

Actually the ones that hate is a a very small faction. a large majority of Muslims are just like us they want to live theit life and prosper. I have been deployed and lived/worked with muslims they are good people.

Look at it this way if you hate a the populis because of the bad a few do then you are no better than the ones you hate. take the higher road. Now I am not saying you have to love them but they are not all bad.

Hasan is a terrorist..He was a U.S. soldier who would rather kill Americans than enemy soldiers of the United States. He is loyal to our enemy and will become a hero to our enemy. the PC media is trying to blame everyone except the shooter, its all static.
