man there are too many opinions on here! what is a johnny joint? isn't that another name for heims? i am going to probably buy from you b.

johnny joints use a spherical bearing that rides on poly inserts so it is exactly inbetween a bushing and a heim. they are also called RE joints but different models have different assemblies. Some have a circlip on one side and a threaded section on the other side, and others have circlips on both sides. Others have a lip machined on one side and a circlip or threaded section on the other side.

They are great alternatives to heim as they are rebuildable and absorb some shock. They are also a great alternative to bushings as they twist better and have poly to absorb some shock but not as much as a complete bushing.

watch for the jimmy joints from summit machine, they are coming out soon and are super trick. They have already built and sold their first batch of 100 and are gearing up to work their second batch....coming soon!!

they basically made a better mouse trap. It isn't a copy, it is the perfection of a design. When they hit, you will see, they are frickin SWEET!! WAYYY better than any other design out there but still the same basic principle.

Those 14" fox shocks should be in Jasons hands Friday (but he is in St. George this weekend for that crawling viedo event so probably Monday). I figure if I order Mine in 3 weeks I will probably get them after easter knowing my luck...

We've had 2 dozen of the new 16" travel on order. Should be a cool alternative to coilovers. I didn't say better, just different... ;) Can't wait to check 'em out.

When? on back order?

yeah i too am interested... but i don't think i can get them right now. i need my jeep to be done for ejs... no matter what! so i am going to stick with leafs in the rear right now. i have the whole cage/frame thing to worry about, then after ejs i will probably go with the 16" fox shocks :D

of course i dunno, i don't think it would take all that much extra time to build the 4link, it is the tuning of the shocks that concerns me :mad2:

i am stoked though cause when i get mine you guys will rule at tuning them. i am going to give your shop some work when i get my shocks... i will just be like okay von i need this much lift with this spring rate, and while you are at it, give the jeep a wash and wax... hehe

really though.

At the rate you're cutting stuff off your rig, there won't be anything to wax, eh? :D

sounds to me like you are trying to get out of it... i can take my business elsewhere if it is gonna be like that -_-

yeah wax my jeep thats a joke! i only waxed it once and i went a whole winter and spring without washing it. it was once a nice looking xj from arizona... the wuss in me misses those days :ugh:

i do plan on always having the front clip though, it would take a few seconds to wax it, but i would rather beat the hell out of it

I like the RE joint or JJ they last way longer then heims and they are cheaper when they go bad it is like $10.00 bucks to rebuild instead of buying new heims
