Frame Extension

I will be extending my frame on my CJ. I was wondering if any one has done this? And what size steel I should use, 2x4 or something different, what thickness? Any pointers wowuld be great, Also cant decide if I am going to just do the 7-10 inch stretch or go for the glory and maybe 20 inch. It is a 76 CJ5.

My frame is extended to about 13 inches. used 2x4ish by really thick. Slid it inside the old frame welded it then plated it then welded it.
