Frameless soft top for a YJ

I sold my hardtop and bought this top from www.softopper.com
I finally found a 92-95 cage (required for this top) and installed it today. You could add to an earlier cage and still make it work, you only need to support the rear edge of the top. I'm really happy with the quality so far, just need to get it good and warm so I can stretch it a bit tighter.

Next on the agenda is to lower this pig. It is currently sitting at 6'-10" on 35" tires. Frame is just a hair over 24" off the ground.

Marc, I think yours looks right for that large of tire. I swapped some leafs about, and came up with this height. About 3.25" lower now. IMAG0026.jpg

I am debating on one of these for the TJ. Do you still like yours? How was the install? Does it make the interior feel too small?

I didn't realize they made these for a YJ. Last spring, my dad converted his 88 YJ to a TJ top so he could do a "bowless" TJ top. It works awesome. The best part is actually the hard plastic TJ door surrounds. Non of my YJ tops have ever sealed as well as his. I was thinking of doing the TJ cage in mine, but this would be WAY easier. How does it seal around the doors? Is there any reason that this wouldn't work with a custom front cage?

I'll take some more pics when I'm back in town. The YJ kit comes with door surrounds made from 1" square tube. They seem like they will seal quite well. Install was VERY easy. Should work with any front cage kit as long as you can close the door. Interior does not feel cramped at all.

There is a metal flange on the top edge of the tub. A plastic lip at the bottom of the soft top sides slips under this flange.
