Friend Stuck in Eagle Mountain: Anyone want to help with a vehicle recovery?

Here's a couple of pics of the adventure. Brian and Andrew can fill in the details, I've gotta get to bed.

It was 18° last night, which actually worked out since we had to slide the truck on a "skate" and drive our trucks out in the normally soft dirt. It's obvious Brett is an Engineer - he had a great plan from the start. The truck already had a used tire and the base of a road construction cone under the rotor to act as a "skate." That saved us a lot of time.

The truck was stuck right on the road and we had to figure out how to turn it around and get it on the trailer. Again, Mr. Engineer jumped into action and quickly had the perfect plan in place. Using my Tundra, we would pull the front of the truck, allowing the "skate" to work and slide the truck into a perpendicular position to the road. This would allow the trailer to back up nicely to the slightly elevate road and then we would simply pull the truck onto the trailer. After about 30 minutes of careful tugging in different directions, the truck was nicely lined up and ready to be loaded.

We intentionally jack-knifed the Excursion to give me easy access to pull the truck onto the trailer.

After getting the truck loaded on the trailer, we headed back to pavement. Now, this is where the pictures stop as we swore to never speak of the "incident." All you need to know is that the truck arrived safely to its destination...with a little excitement on the way. Nobody was allowed to take pictures for fear of severe razzing on RME :D

A huge shout-out and thanks to Brett for all his efforts - what a guy! We especially appreciated his Santa hat and all his profound wisdom!

Great report! You Won't see any razzing from me, you took tine out of your busy day to help a complete stranger. You guys rock. I'm surprised brian didn't just pick it up and bench press it on to the trailer.
