Friendly Inspection Place

So I've got to get my wife's car inspected this month. I used to know a guy, but he has since left. I'm not asking for someplace that will pass anything, just someone honest who isn't going to haggle me and say, "You know, those muffler bearings are looking a little weak and you could use some more headlight fluid."
Anyone recommend someone/place they'd like to PM me?

You ought to have any references PM'd to you, so good shops aren't 'outed' on a public forum. I'm sure that's what you meant, just forgot to say it. ;)

I may be full it, but my experience has been that some garages love to find stuff to fail you in hopes of getting work. I know of one Sinclair station that will fail for a minute leak anywhere in the steering. Everytime I've gone there they fail me.

I've actually had luck with non-garage shops like Jiffy-Lube. They do like to fail you for light bulbs because that's something they can replace. Other than that, they don't have much to gain by failing you. Sure, they have to fail vehicles or they will get audited.

The guy at my work doesn't look for things wrong so he can fix them. He does look at everything though and doesn't let stuff slide and our prices are lower than what I have seen at other places. Pm me if your still looking for a place.

Teraflex Plus does inspections/emissions. They won't pass illegal things, but they won't mess around with stupid stuff like a Jiffy Lube (or whoever) will.

Carl, you have anyone there who does bikes? I'd rather pay you guys than Jiffy-Lube anyday.

It seems like there are some bikes that come through from time to time, but I want to check to make sure. Is there any difference in the inspection process or the licensing for a scooter?

I know it doesn't matter for the rest, but here in Tooele I take all my vehicles to Big O for inspections. They are fair and let me know what I need to fix soon.

Nope, same process. It's just that the inspector has to be specificly trained to check the blinkers on a bike. :-\
