I am pretty sure that its just a matter of changing the wheel hubs out with non dually ones...you can buy them or you can turn the dually hubs down, but I have heard turning the dually hubs down is not as strong as a SRW hub...I dont know the price of new ones but I imagine you can pick up used ones for around a bill each...

Ebay, some times $100.00a set,,, some times $200.00... Then sell your dually hubs on there, you may just balance out.

yeah, thats another good point, I have also heard a lot of diesel guys like the switch form SRW to DRW and often you can find a guy to just trade straight accross...check some of the diesel boards. Another thing is if this is a Chevy DRW axle then all the above applies, if its a Ford DRW D60 then you can usually get the hubs from pick and pull cause the TTB axle hubs will work (or so I have heard)...Damn, I have heard a lot but have yet to confirm any of it:rofl:

Hmmmmmmmm..........good info.

Just for the record. Six States price on the non-dually hub is $200 per side (Andy's quote). You may need a rotor for roughly $50 per side and the king-pin "rebuild" kit was pretty reasonable $50ish....

I just have done this conversion. You will need new outer hubs, rotors, studs, bearings, races and seals. It was few hundred dollars for everything.

"few hundred".......can you be a little more specific? Sources for parts, actual costs, etc.

Well lets break it down. 200 bucks each for hubs from Six States. 75 bucks for studs, bearings, seals from Six States. Rotors $20 each calipers $30 each (I wanted new ones since I was grinding to clear 15" wheels.)

Yes Andy you are right it was me.

Lots'o'money, but if you get your dually 60 cheap enough its not so bad.

Donovan at Ram Grinding in Wheat Ridge Colorado(just north of Denver) turned my hubs down for $100, and drilled the holes for 9/16 studs.
This was all I had to do to mine. I checked into getting new hubs, etc. I couldn't see spending that much for new hubs when these are fine. He did a very nice job turning them down, was recommended to me by another friend. He's done several sets, know exactly what to do. The mounting surface for the studs IMO is plenty beefy for everyday use and abuse.

Even after shipping those heavy bastids, that's something to consider.....What size tire are you running and how do you wheel? Throttle jockey?
