I'm getting ready to stretch my yj so I'm going to need a fuel cell. I'm looking for something that will be pretty quiet. The last one I had inside was dang loud. Anyone have experience with this? Which tank and accesories that go with it? I'm hoping to get it ordered up pretty soon.

In-tank pumps are generally more reliable than external, as well as being muffled by the tank itself. (only matters if either option are in the same area)

Agreed!! Internal pumps are far more reliable than external because the fuel cools the pump versus an external pump is not really designed to suck fuel out the top of the tank, plus its exposed to all the heat. I currently run an external pump but I plan on installing an intank pump soon. If you were to buy an RCI tank and install your factory pump it shouldnt be louder than it already is. If it is you could always build a cover for it kinda like the floor is a cover for it now to muffle the sound. A plugged pickup sock or fuel filter could also cause excessive noise. In tank pumps are the most reliable and dependable pumps. Plus you can keep the stock fuel gauge and factory setup for easy repair if needed. The simpler you keep it the better off you'll be. If you need any TIG welding done or a flange built to bolt the pump in the RCI tank I'm happy to help.

Carrying a spare pump would be a must but would cost more money and hope it doesnt get lost haha

my pump was $80 bucks down by the frame i never hear it but it did leave me staranded once before just stopped working with no signs of failure

I didn't have to cut it, the RCI cell I bought already had it on there I just screwed it in....It isn't too loud, but I can definately hear it!

you could try building a box around the tank with dynamat if you wanted to cut down the noise

i'm just running my stock tank and its right behind my front seats, and its pretty loud when i first start it but after that it shuts up.
