Fuel fitting question

I'm assembling my lines to fit up my new fuel cell,
and I need to know what the proper way to crimp the clamp.

Here's what I'm working with

This goes on the Tank side on the fuel pump.

Top of the pic is the stock fitting

Bottom of the pic is what I'm going to use:
( 3/8 in Fuel Rail Fitting to male -6 AN. Female -6 AN to socketless barb. -6 AN hose clamp. -6 AN fuel hose)

female AN-6 to Socketless barb

What is the proper way to crimp this clamp onto the fuel line?

These are the crimpers for those clamps.

They are basically dull nippers.

I guess my next question is: can I use something else to crimp them myself? I'll take one over to EVCO and get it done, but I don't think they'll be open when I do the other side.

or

Can I use a standard hose clamp or a clamp that is more field service-able instead? The fuel pump is a stock TJ returnless system so I may see 36 psi max. And I can see it being a pain if I have to repair a fuel line on a trail.

Your brass hose fitting is a "push lock" fitting and shouldnt need a clamp. especially if it is the return hose.
You can use a different clamp if you want, but you can also just grab on to the end with a pair of cutters. It doesnt take too much pressure to squeeze them together

I called evco and he didn't know without bringing it in,
So I stopped by hose and rubber at lunch and they said I could just crimp it with diagonal cutters. Its pushlock hose too so I don't technically need it but I feel safer crimping it.
He gave me a standard hose clamp for the smaller diameter return line.

I was super surprised that the stock fittings have no hose clamps anywhere.

Whats wrong with just regular fuel injector hose clamps that you tighten with a screw driver?

Push lock hose and fittings are good to 300psi. I have used them on many fuel systems without clamps and have never had a problem. No clamping needed. That's why they are so great to use.

thanks. it's those Russel fittings that killed me they are like $18 each. I think I spent $70+ with Summit just on fittings... lame
