Does this remind anyone else of Napoleon Dynamite?

Looks like a fun time--probably were the only ones out there.

That was some SIC AIR!!!!

I weigh about 300lbs at 6'4". The quad fueled up weighs about 650....so approx half a ton of stuff flying through the air just seems like a bad idea so we tried to keep it real.

Ive got to ask, where are the dunes at? For as long as Ive been here I havnt played there yet.....

edit: whats the requirements for going out there? If I took my TJ and the kids little 50cc and 70cc ATV's, do they all have to have a OHV tag? Do the kids have to have the training course? Flags? Spark resistors?

Look up Jericho, Sand Mountain, Little Sahara as these are all names for the place. It is almost straight west of Nephi utah. Drop Jericho in www.mapquest.com and it just about puts you there. From south ogden you are about 120 miles or so.

As far as children's atvs, I know you need spark arrestors and flags. I am not sure about registration of children's ATVs but you might want to get a number for the visitor's center down there and give em a ring.

There are tons of places to go down there, I reccoment going to the white sand's area as it is a bit more family friendly than sand mountain itself which is about 8 miles away. The serious psychos go to sand mountain and camp at the base, pretty much where I am standing in that panorama picture.

There is an entry fee also, I wish I had the brochure on me, I am at work right now.

Even small ATV's have to be registered to take them on any public land.. Kids under a certain age must complete the OHV training course too. Not a bad thing at all IMHO.

I used to spend half my weekends at the dunes... I love riding there in the winter

The sand is a whole different animal down there in the snow. The snow needs to be blown off and then the sand is wet for about an inch and then you hit the sand we all know and love...its interesting to ride, that is for sure!!
