UPS showed up today with a shockingly small, pricey box from Cool Cruisers of Texas, filled with odd, foreign gaskets, a really big thermostat, some radiator hoses, a clutch master kit, and some drivetrain mounts. Also got a sweet license plate frame hahahahah.

You Toyota people are freakin' crazy. It physically hurts me thinking about how much Chevy stuff I could get for the same price!!!!:ugh:

so at any rate, now I can get into the replacement motor sitting in the driveway and see what shape the block is in. Joy!!!! it's supposed to be nice out here too. :D

Your first mistake was using CCOT :)

They had stuff in stock and don't charge $5 to touch a box.

Hoses & Clutch -> NAPA, they stock the Aisin/Koyo parts in their clutch kits

I've got the motor mounts you tard!

I figured you might, but it was like 3am when I was ordering. :( I am going to need a few things though-- knuckle kits, and.. somethign else I saw on your site. Our NAPA sucks ass out here, they said (and showed me the screen) that they can't get anything. But the PartsPlus can!

Way to support local business Tacoma.

I TRIED to buy the gaskets from Kurt!!! he told me to try NAPA, so there. :D

Well, they're pretty neat. I am totally loving the engineering on them-- you can reach the bolts, and things are put together like we'd all want them put together on all our rigs. The vacuum shifter and underdash t-case shifter are pretty goofy, but well-though-out and functional... and removed now. :D I like their modular construction and ease of repair.

I have dreams of rolling around southern UT, top down, bugs in my face, it's going to be great!!! :D

I have gone through the restoration process of a Cruiser and the advise I would like to offer is simple. Be prepared to spend some cash. Cruiser are not cheep to build. Do yourself a favor and shop wisely.

well %$%$@#^@# I am about $4 away from saying screw it, I'm running a Chevy engine. :D

Pulled the head off the 2f, and the bores are a bit rusty. Not so rusty that the block is wrecked, but for the cost of the machining and new pistons/bearings, I could easily run a Chevy. SO, I am looking for a running 2f that will cost less than a bellhousing and motor mount adapters. :D Cuz like, I've GOT running TBI stuff here. MOOAHAHAH Anyway our resident Cruiser Expert, the singular Kurt, is on it, and I have faith that a suitable 2f long block shall present itself when I need it. In the meantime, disc front axle! Trans regasket and inspection!! interior meddling!!

I am still impressed with the engineering though. Very smart clutch-removal scheme: but kinda sucks taking the trans off when the drivetrain ISN'T in the truck LOL.. and I kept giggling at the 8.75" transmission... that's SO FREAKIN SMALL to a Chevy guy. Anyway. :D :D
