So my grandpa has an old manual garage door and its getting to the point where he has a hard time lifting it up and down. He is ready to convert over to a power garage door so all he has to do is push the button.

Does anyone on here do garage doors or can refer me to someone who does good work for decent price???

Thank you

I work with a guy who lives in Tooele, he used to do them a lot. I'll ask him if he wants to do a quick job (he will be cheap but not free), then I'll PM you his #. Are you thinking a new door or just the opener for the old door?

Hey,
I have worked with Garage Doors my whole life. My dad owns a Garage Door shop. I would get you hooked up for cheaper than anyone else probably could, and I can install it. If you are interested give me a call.

I'm in the same boat as Skippy and will be calling you as well.

Not sure what the pricing is here, but to give you an idea I paid $700 in Vegas for a new door converting from a flip up door and re-install the Garage door opener. I think that was through Lowes so it would be normal retail price

A bit of a hi jack, but I'd also like to get some work done. I have a third car door that I'd like make it a foot wider and one more section higher. That would mean cutting out the frame work around the opening to make it work, plus the new door. No opener. I still have a strong back. What do you think?

I looked in to this. As long as the header is not directly above the door you will be fine. Relocating the header is the nightmare.

I am out of town right now, but will be back home next Monday. I will get back with you.
