Gas tank filler neck hose......what is everybody using?

I'm about ready to try to fire up the 350, and want to finish welding around/near the gas tank before adding fuel........

.....spent about 2 hours yesterday trying to make molded fuel tank filler hoses work with my filler neck (using a CJ setup). So, now that I've totally butchered the hoses, where would I find kind of a 'flex' type hose? EVCO?

Any other suggestions?

yes, evco has gas filler line...however its not real flexible, its wire re-enforced...and its not the cheapest stuff either.

Rckcrlr, any idea the maximum size you can get that stuff? The M715 Jeep trucks have a huge like 5 or 6" filler hose that no one can find. Would be awesome to be able to use that stuff for it. Why so big you might ask? Well, it's so they could use 120gpm aircraft refueling equipment.

Marc, is there anything stock that you can use? I dont' know what vehicle this is on. And I'll guess you already thought of that. :ugh:

probably, but I have never done a lot of gas tank work (kind of on purpose) and need something that would turn a 90* angle within about4-5 inches. CJ looks like it would work but it's just a little long. I noticed a thread on PBB today and someone suggested using exhaust tubing for an intermediate pipe........... got me thinking.....:D

I've used exhaust tubing also. I was in a pinch and couldn't find anything to work on a 40 year old car so I got a local exhaust shop to bend a peice of scrap for me......they didn't even charge me for it.

ahhh that figures. I'll probably just rig something to fit inside the original LOL hell, it's big enough.

I have heard of using the exhaust pipe method myself, seems to work just fine and it's available.

You might look at the flexible radiator lines at checker or any place like. They are 8 bucks and have up to 2 inch diameters!

check the boat shops out, also check evco if you haven;t already, some of our boats had HUGE rubber tubing like that for their exhaust (from block to pipes)...its was prolly 4-6" in diameter depending on the boat. Its not cheap though and you have to use big ass hose clamps to secure it.
