if you like the over use of 4lo, im running 4.88's (soon to be) on my XJ 4.0 with 37's, and I still think I should have opted for the 5.13's

I'm running 33s on a TJ four cylinder, and I'm planning on 4.88s when I get around to swapping out the turd. I'd prolly go with 5.13s with 35s.

Don't know. Haven't done it yet myself. I'll prolly end up doing the gears on my buggy myself. From what I understand, it ain't rocket science, you just have to take your time and redo it until it is right. I will have someone that knows what they're doing look at mine before I run it though.

Yeah ive heard the same. Do you know if you actually have to go drive around with the new ones for about 500 miles to break them in or not

Yes, you do. The metal will work harden after a few hundred miles. I have seen brand new gears that were set up correctly, come back a few days later looking like oatmeal because someone towed a trailer right after a new gear install.

So do you think the drive down to moab will be enough?

Yes, I usually advise to go drive it on the freeway for at least 30 min. and park it for the night. As for tow viehicles I say 500 miles or more before even thinking about towing.

Hey man you wanna drive that thing 500 miles and then change that diff oil to get all of the worn metal bits out of your diff bearings. I would advise you to wear it in slow to begin with. Drive it for 20-30 mins and get out and check how hot the diff cover feels. If it's hot let it sit and cool then drive it again. You can easily put 500 miles on a car when you want to in a couple/few days.
