Just picked up a couple axels from a buddy and one is a GM 12 bolt rear. Just curious what people think of them. I have a cj7 with the amc 20 now but want to udgrade to a wider stance. The biggest tire i will be running is a 37 and i am not hardcore offroading it for a few more years. So yea let me know what ya think

The bad is that there's nothing good about a 12 Bolt. :p Really, they break with 35's on them and they are c-clip axles, so the shafts come out if you break one. The shafts are the same size as a 10 Bolt. IMO it's not an upgrade over an AMC 20... and an AMC 20 isn't that great.

My experience is that gm puts a little grenade inside every one. I had one built a few years back and pulled it off the trailer with no miles on it and kaboom, parts everywhere. This would be the third time i had seen it happen( not on the same rig).
