Have chance to get a '00 quad cab, 4x4, long bed, manual. Has leather - every option. Almost perfect condition. 36K miles. I know its been well cared for. He will sell it to me for $20K (trade-in + tax effect)
I kinda wanted a 4 dr short bed, but I may just get this.

Is this an awesome deal, or just a decent deal?

Thanks
Kirk

Sounds like an awesome deal to me! I prefer short bed just for the looks too but with that mileage I would probably go for it! Is it 6spd or 5 spd ? What color is it?

That is a really good deal. I bought the same truck, basically, minus the leather for 20K and mine had 75K miles. I would by it if I were you, but I am not. The long bed will track better while towing also. great deal.

I don't know if its a 5 or 6 speed. I am torn. I am on track to buy my dads '03 short bed 4 door auto (cummins also) next fall for about the same price - his will have about 60k miles (I assume) Both have the same features. Both are solid white.

Here are my thoughts:
I will use the truck to commute daily - about 40 miles.
Pull my Jeep, - Sometimes 5th wheel trailer and the Jeep (13,000 lbs)
I currently have an auto, and like not having to shift. (lazy)
The short bed could probably fit in my garage, I don't think the long bed will.
I like the bigger rear seat in the 03
The leather in the quad cab is A LOT better than the new one - dodge put some cheap suade type stuff in the new ones.
Have two kids - probably end up with 3.

Cant decide.

'00 should be a 6 Speed, I think.

If price isn't the diffrence between the 2, then I'd hold out for the Quad Cab. Especially with the kids in the mix.

Or... buy the '00, use it in the mean time, sell it before buying the '03 and you'll probably be able to turn a profit.

When I bought the truck I was told they didn't start putting them in until 01, but that doesn't mean it wasn't an option. The 5 speed still tows great though. High and low gear are the same basically just one more middle gear in the 6 speed which would be nioce
