Anyone mess with editing video? I have a camera that records in AVI format and I'd like to do some chopping, splicing, adding music, text, etc. Looking for something easy to use too. Oh, free is good too... Is that too much to ask?

If you have an Imac then Final Cut is the only way to go :greg: On most macs, they come with the program already installed (from what I hear) and you can do almost anything. This program is my all time favorite I just dont have $2500 to blow on a Imac. Some Macs didnt come with Final Cut, then you will need to buy it...pretty spendy just not sure on exact price. Final Cut Pro is the upgraded version, and works great

But if you have windows, I hear abobe elements works well..I believe it is relatively resonable on the price too (~$50)

I am really big on the video production scene I just need a camera, and the video editing software....so everything... I am hoping to be getting back in it soon, but not sure...I mostly filmed RC events, and was planning on Rock Crawling, and other stuff too...but then school ended, and i didnt have any of the equipment to continue

No, Final Cut is not included. iMovie is and it will do 90% of what most people will ever need from it. Final Cut is their production suite, this is the App a lot of Hollywood films are produced with, the Final Cut Suite alone is $1300.

Also, FWIW, you can get a very nice 24" iMac for $1800 ;) If you want the 20" it's even less.
