Grandson caught a big one

My wife and I took our 5 year old grandson out fishing Saturday and he ended up catching the biggest fish. He was a very happy little man. It was a tiger trout 23 inches long and around 5 pounds. He brought it in all by himself and I only helped him land it after his reel fell off his pole when it was at the bank.

That is awesome! He's already A better fisherman than me, the biggest I've got was just over 3lbs if I remember correctly.

I'll have to ask my daughter how it tasted. We cooked up one of the smaller tigers tonight that I caught and it was very good. My grandson told me he was going to eat his fish all by himself. It did give him a good fight. I had the drag set loose in case he did get a nicer one so it pulled the drag out quite a bit rather than breaking his line.
