so i ran over a nail the other day in the van and I went out to drive it yesterday and yep i had a flat. I put the doughnut on and ran the errands that i neede and then went to Big O (take your money) Tires to see about a plug and was quoted 15 bucks. no way i can buy the kit for 5. then I stopped at Discount Tire to see how much they charged because i am lazy, and found out that they dont plug tires they do a patch and remount the tire put a new valve stem in and balance for a flat rate of nothing it took them about 20 to get it done but that included waiting for them to get to the tire. they even put the spare back in the van properly. I have to say i will go back. when i need tires for the van.

I've had similar experiences there. They rock. I've bought two sets of tires there in the past year because of the service I've gotten on flats. :)

Then you have been lucky. I won't go back to discount, at least the one in Lindon. My dad bought his tires for the Bronco there, including their all inclusive warranty.

Well, one of the tires got a non-repairable hole, when he went to replace it, they said they were on back order from the factory. Took like 6 months to get a tire. Problem is, 2 weeks later, our friend went in and bought a full set of the same tires. the Manager kept blowing my Dad off, even though he has been taking his personal and work vehicle there for years. Needless to say, we go to Jack's Tire & Oil.

I got a new set of tires at Discount Tire for my Honda in February this year. I didn't get their road hazard warranty. About four months later I ran over a little coil spring that put a big gash in the tire. I took it there to see if they would patch it, but due to the size of the hole, it was unrepairable. Since it had nearly no tread wear, they warrantied it for me and gave me a new one (I paid for mounting, balancing, and a new disposal fee), despite not buying their warranty. :)

I can't say anything about the Lindon location, but the West Valley, Murray, Holladay, Draper, and Riverton locations have all treated me well.

I have had great experiences at the Discount in Roy. I bought the warranty for my wifes car and hit a big ass pothole on the freeway and damaged the inner sidewalls and when I took it in they changed both of them out for brand new tires, no questions asked except if I wanted to repurchase another warranty for them and I would have been a fool not to. Just waiting for the next pothole when they are getting low on tread so I can go back and get a fresh pair.

the discount tire in Layton refused to sell me some 35x12.50x17 for my expedition cause the rim was to small... it was an 17x8... an another time when I went there to get a flat fixed they again refused to do the work due to the tire and rim size... mean while the les schub did the repair for free... even asked if I wanted them rotated for free...

So have never been back to discount...

The Discount Tire in Lindon sold me some tires for my wife's Corolla and swore up and down they would last at least 60k miles. 15k miles later, they were bald and they wouldn't do anything about it. There wasn't a mileage warranty on the tires, so I should've been suspect and done some research, but I took the guy for his word. other than that, they have always been good to me. Probably won't go back.

I refuse to go to any Big O. I had the one in Spanish Fork lie to me, saying I needed new CV joints when they were just fine. A year later or so I went to the one in Orem by University Mall, and they lied and told me I needed new rotors along with the new brake pads. Rotors were just fine.

Similar story to me but my tires were the factory tires on my wife's Civic. They were the upgraded SI tires so ofcourse they are $300 a tire. Discount said if I bought five warranties (1 for the one being replaced and then one for each tire) they would replace it. So I paid the $100 for five warranties and got a new tire and warranty coverage on all the rest of my tires. Yes I will be going back. :)

I've also always received great service (no good deals, just solid service) from the Les Schwabs in South Jordan.

Have always had great service at Discount tire but lately have gone to Les Schwab for the last 3 flat/leaky tires. Always free and always a good job. I called Firestone since they were open on Sunday (Les and discount were closed) and they wanted $13 for the same service.

just bought 5 new rims from discount (lehi) for my JK. They had a great price. However they wanted 7.50 each to rebuild the TPMS. they wanted 15 for a flat repair. Anyway the work I wanted done was 180 on top of the rims I bought. Big O down the street charged me 80 bucks and I didn't even buy anything there. I took it to big O and saved 100 bucks. The service was pretty good at discount. Big O was better. They gave me a loaner spare tire and rim until the 5th rim I bought from discount came in. I realize they where just trying to earn my business. It worked.

I think it all comes down to individual places. Lindon discount sucks orem discount has been great, lehi is good so far. bigO in orem sucks and the one in AF is great.

Les Schwab in Lehi (under new management) just charged me $62.50 to mount 4 new tires on 4 new rims (atv).... didn't have to take anything off, or patch anything... just slip the tires on and air them up... total of maybe 15 minutes. I'm not happy.
