I work at an architectural firm, everything is green building this, sustainability that, blah blah blah. Now I am fine with building smarter, but when they now are getting our office to go "green" it is getting rediculous.

Building is the main area of offense, to me. It's one thing to build new stuff w/better HVAC, less plastic, etc, but it's retarded to gut everything just for the hell of it so you can say how green you are.
I wanted to build a straw bale house, and was all but denied. Makes a ton of sense around here, but oh well. Would cut the heating/cooling bills by about half.

The thing that really irks me about the whole thing is that it's not enough to just build "green". If no one knows that it's a "green" building then you don't build it that way. It's all about appearances.
Exactly. Everybody is so concerned about "being Green" instead of actually coming up with sound solutions. It's all about image and politics.

We reside in a fairly "green" area, ie: fair bit of hybrid cars, straw bale houses, chicks with more hair under their arms than my head, etc. etc. Now while this is annoying, I must admit to a little trick that makes me feel worlds better: When I get behind a said "Greenie" I love to get right on their hinnie, let off the gas for a minute, then fly past them leaving them in a cloud of black diesel smoke. Makes me happier just thinking about it!
