Our locomotives are 2 stroke with turbos....
Why is that? It's a 2-stroke diesel, so they normally run with superchargers rather than turbos as I understand it...otherwise they'd have to have something to spool up the turbos before you could start the thing.
The Brushcutter I ran was powered by a Detroit Diesel 8V 2 stroke that was turbocharged AND supercharged. It sounded like it was about to come apart when you ran it at full engine operating speed.

They run both with the turbo feeding the supercharger.
