Why is that? It's a 2-stroke diesel, so they normally run with superchargers rather than turbos as I understand it...otherwise they'd have to have something to spool up the turbos before you could start the thing.

It was at SEMA 2009. Really cool, and very nice craftsmanship. I wish I'd heard it run, like some others got to...

Our locomotives are 2 stroke with turbos....

The turbos do run on a clutch till about 1/2 throttle, then they spool up.

The Brushcutter I ran was powered by a Detroit Diesel 8V 2 stroke that was turbocharged AND supercharged. It sounded like it was about to come apart when you ran it at full engine operating speed.

Banks, I see, is making some crazy Duramax with a supercharger and twin turbos.

They run both with the turbo feeding the supercharger.

Ours are turbo only... Works just like any ole turbo engine...
