I have a 06 LJ Rubicon with the 6 speed stick. Lately when driving around town when I shift from 2nd to 3rd, the gears grind. Not sure what it is causing it any ideas out there?

Changing the oil is a good first step. If that doesn't work you will need to put a new syncro in. While the tranny is apart it would be advisable to replace all the syncros and any other wear parts since the labor to disassemble the tranny is usually much more than the cost of the parts.

Make sure only to use the required fluid, using anything other than what it calls for really screws with these newer transmissions.

Well its under warranty so I took it to Hinkley DCJ and they are going to replace the transmission instead of rebuilding it. So I am down for that.
