Harness' Roll cage..

Since I put in my roll cage the rear seat belts will no longer function. I knew this would happen, so I had the cage built to allow for harness's.

My question is, when buying a harness what do I look for? I do want comfort obviously getting jarred around with some uncomfortable strapping is not my idea of fun...

I have seen 4 point, 5 point, and the cam locking version, as well as the ones that are much cheaper that slide on the belt area, I am not sure I want that for the front, the rear will mostly be used for children, but I do know that adults may sit back there occasionally.

I don't want to break the budget, but I need 4 harness's. I figured some 4 point cam lock, I have seen them from 25-200 dollars a harness, name brand to no name brand. I am looking for something in the middle, 50 apiece? Is that a pipe dream for harness's I will end up not liking and replacing?

I have to order these VERY soon, I am going to moab second weekend of oct, am trying to go the first weekend too.

Vendors welcome to post your numbers and contact info, if at first you will explain what you have and likes dislikes, what I am not interested in is huge markup :) I have ebay, just dont want to buy some junk....

Also, these are stock seats, and the rol cage bars have not been added for the harness's yet. Seats have the built in head rest, and no holes...

Here are a few update pics... not much just the interior was repainted, roll cage painted, sound dampener put in, new carpet... blah blah. Nothing too exciting right now.

Big crazy speaker box..... not in the car :)

Every set of harnesses I've seen are over $100. If you could find an old drag racer he might have some used sets around. All the good 5 points are dated and have to be current to be compliant.

Yes, you could attach the lowers to your old seat belt points, and the uppers to the bar in back, but in the absence of dedicated holes in your seats you're going to have to find some way to attach them to the shoulders of the seats, so they don't fall down. That could be dangerous in a roll.

Well i got my 5 point harnesses from an outfit in SLC that races. They have old harnesses for sale that have to replaced every so often by law. There is nothing wrong with them what so ever. Price is right too. The wife picked these up one day while shoe shopping :) so i'll have to ask her what the name of it was.
Anyway now she doesn't want them anymore (they are 3" wide) and she wants to go 2" wide and get something bling bling so i'll let mine go for 20$ each. They are the latch style. they are designed to go through the top of the racing seat through a hole for safety. If you don't have that kind of seat then they would not be safe to use but you could use the lap belt only i suppose.

This sounds like the plan :)

This was the route I took also, I posted a want ad on RMR's classifieds and picked up a pair for $25 each and they've worked out great.
