I thought I would do quick poll and see what peoples thoughts are on an important safety issue. I direct this more towards those that are running the harder trails where rollover is a possibility. The reason I am doing this is that I have noticed a lot of people that do not wear their seatbelt or harnesses on the trails to include when they are doing obstacles that have a chance of rolling a vehicle. I have even seen one guy (nobody from here) go to jump out of his Samurai when it was about to roll. Luckily it did not roll because I was thinking how ugly it was going to be.

When I had my rig rebuilt by BHR safety was a concern. I had them tie the roll cage into the frame, install racing seats and 5 point harnesses. I hate wearing the harness and tend to only wear the lap belt while on the trail. I will put on all 5 when doing a difficult obstacle. I rarely see anyone else put a harness on even if they have one. I would hate to see someone seriously injured while on the trail because of not putting on a seat belt or harness.

I rarely DON'T wear my belt on the trail (or in the truck on the highway for that matter). I believe a person is likely much better off staying inside the "cage" of a vehicle than trying bail. Anything that will help them do that is a plus. A harness is ideal, but I haven't went there yet.

I always wear my seatbelt, because Kelsey and Jude make me. :D

When I do the cage in the Blazer, I'll be tying the seats to the cage, as well as the harness/seatbelts.

I'm not a huge fan of harnesses.. I had 4" wide lap belts in my '85 4runner.. Far better, because I would otherwise remove my seatbelt here and there to be able to see what going on down in front of my rig.

I have a 4 point harness, but I often find myself with just the lap fastened when offroad because the shoulders are too limiting. I always wear a belt out of habit, but I often wonder if I would be safer off-road with a 3 point.

I'm not sure who you running the trails with, but I'm always strapped in with all 5 points, same with my passengers.

I don't like the shoulder harnesses because they keep me from seeing things since I have no mobility when they are on. I really have to rely on a spotter when they are on but to roll with just a lap belt belt on could be very bad so I put them on when I am doing something difficult.

I have wheeled with a wide varity in my short time doing this. I also notice it in a lot of the pictures I see to though.

I went with the Corbeau 4 point harness since it connects with one buckle like a lap belt so it is easy get in and out. I also leave the shoulder straps a little loose to be able to look around and not rub on my shoulders but still tight enough that if I was upside down my head would still have a couple inches from the cage.

I've got 4 points in the chevy, I always have the lap belt fastened, on or off road. I only use the shoulder straps when I'm trying an obstacle that I could roll on.

I am planning on reinstalling the stock 3 points to use around town and so I can put my kids car seat in the truck.

I always use a lap belt. only use shoulder belt when getting really crazy, like mentioned its hard to see out. I hate my new harness buckle so Im going to get the New corabue harnesses with the release/catch mechanism kinda like the oem shoulder belt catch but for the Y harness so I can where the shoulders and still lean out.

I am glad that everyone that is replying wears theirs but I can not be the only one that has noticed people that don't. I have seen it local, in Moab, Johnson Valley, Rubicon and anywhere else I have been and in pictures and videos posted on various sites.

I rolled my sand rail twice with only a lap belt, I was supprised how well it held me in the seat, cant say the same for my legs.
As soon as I got home i got online and purchased 3 points for it.
