Well Im thinking about trying to find some surplus wheels and tires for my weekend/ tow rig 1993 w250. I bought the truck with some broski 20 inch rims and low pro toyo MT's and would really like to get rid of them.

Are there any big negatives to running them other then weight?
Do they make a 16.5 wheel that i can run on a older Dodge cummins?
Any personal Experience running these tires?
Is there anywhere local i can go pick some up? Boyce?

are you thinking of the 37" goodyears?

Boyce does have some. The supply was pretty low a month ago when I was in there. Probably about 10 tires total. Some with decent tread tho.

As for wheels, they really dont make new 16.5 anymore. But you should be able to find some used pretty easy.

I remember reading somewhere that the 16.5 wheels don't have a safety bead on the inside of the rim. They're great with H1 beadlocks, but all other 16.5's blew beads easier.

I've never owned them, I'm just repeating what I read many years ago, so I could be way off.

They'll be fine at street pressures. They just suck offroad with lower than about 15 psi because of what you mention

I run them no problems. They are not the best in packed snow so I grooved them with minimal success but I also run the worst possible combo, locked front and rear short wheelbase four speed rowdy small block heavy foot : ) Never really tried them off road cept some light mud no rocks I swap to my swampers for that. If your in the market I have six more I would sell mine are near new and can post pics if you want. Are there any big negatives to running them other then weight? Probably not much more than your 20s
