Howdy my name is Mike, the wife and I are headin down to moab this spring.I got march31st through April 9th off from work.looks like this would have been a good time last year, this year I hit right in the heart of easter jeep safari. This is our first ever vacation:D and just wanting to make the most of it.

Just not sure what to expect other than way to many people around lol.

is Area BFE open anydays to just show up and wheel? or do I have to sighn up and get assighned a group to wheel the trails there?like Moab that weekend?

Im hopefully meeting Zukijames down there and runnin the St. George area.Very excited about this, but still would like to run Area BFE also, just wanting the hole Moab/utah wheelin experiance;)

Who am I: im 44 years old im a retired bricklayer,I now operate a small autoparts store in Wa. state.I love to wheel and the wife does too.Ive always had small, less than 90 wheelbase samurais nothing bigger than 35's and leaf spring suspension.Ive come across some success in my business and recently built a new zuk its linked front and back 107" wheelbase 40" mtrk's lockers front and back.heres a couple pics of the rig just got it finished up this spring,Ive built everything myself, took me 3 years to build it,it was my first ever buggy type rig so it took me a while to build was kinda in over my head lol but so far she works great!

So I checked that out.

Looks like April 3rd is reserved for the crawl mag readers ride from 11 am to 9 pm

Then the night crawl April 5th and April 6th

So does the night run require registration? or do ya just show up and have a blast! ?

So any other day that week is open to free run the BFE area?

Thanks I apprceiate y'all answering my questions.

Rockmike - Jeep Safari week is always super hectic, but I'd love to meet up with you for a trail. My wife and I moved to Moab from Washington (Auburn area) abouot 12 years ago. Spent many weekends wheeling and camping in the Little Naches area, and dirt biking Cle Elum before that. Post up again closre to EJS, maybe we can meet up...

I have never been to EJS in a jeep.. (I prefer a dirt bike for ease of trail navigation that weekend :D) I have heard about this sign up stuff ^^ is it legit? Who is the regulator that is going to stop me from driving on a trail should I take my Jeep?

Thanks for the warm welcome guys.Sounds like zukijames is is more concerned about racing on the 8th.Looks like im headin to EJS I guess, maybe do that for a couple days then head over to BFE and run the trails over there.I guess there will be enough people around to meet up with and run a trail with, cause im just worried about being on my own, thats not smart doin the trails I want to do.I cant get any of my local wheelin buds to make this trip with me,they all spend there time and money doing KOH every year.

Pretty cool some of y'all from my area or close to it,wheeled Naches alot! that why im expanding I guess you could say...just want to see differant stuff and find new challenges.

Its my understanding we dont have to be in a Jeep, damn good thing,im a zukr not a damn jeeper lol I dont get the preregister thing either.I had a guy tell me the EJS week is paramount to the community and they rule all! that weekend, everything runs through its orginizers that week end,so play along or stay home! Ive also had people tell me DO NOT go that weekend its a giant cluster bleep! and I wont get much wheelin in...I dunno,I think the experiance of the EJS could be fun,im on vacation I wont be in a hurry,I got 5 days to wheel!

Deffinatly interested in how the EJS works and what I can expect from any that has done it...

not moab anymore
mike you wanta run prichett and hells revenge.

prichett is challenging with some technical lines.. hells is classic moab slick rock with some cool obsitcals then i'd spend the rest of the time at bfe. bfe is closer than most of the other trails also you need to go up potato salad hill not that hard but can be tricky and cause bad rolls i'll find ya some info on trails
