My heater is not blowing out hot air, it is luke warm at best. I drive a 97 tj with a 4cylinder engine. I don't know much about heater, but it doesn't seem to be working right. Any ideas would be great.

thanks

Could be

Low coolant level, bad thermostat, plugged heater core? Does the heater hose running to the heater core get hot? Just throwing out some ideas.

heater problems

I haven't gotten way into it yet, but I felt the hoses going into the heater core and the supply hose was hot and the hose coming from the heater was not really warm, the coolant levels are fine. I recently replaced the water pump and I am wondering if I there is anything that I could have done to cause problems with the heater.

hot on one side and cool on the other, I am going with a blocked heater core. pull the lines off and back flush it. you can get a kit from the local parts store so you can hook up a garden hose for flushing out the system. if you do this be sure there is no coolant on the ground when you are done, animals and kids like the sweet taste of DEATH!. of course this is just my opinion.

also check the heat selector if it is stuck on cold that could also be the problem.
