Nobody has said it, it doesn't meet many of your categories well maybe only one or two lol

only about 4 people on RME would understand, but this would be a riot. Love it.

Oh I understand. First gens rock--there's no doubt about it. I for one will never own another 2WD pickup no matter how cool it is (snow + northern utah = no worky).

If I could do it all over again with the Rot Box I would go with a OME lift, 32's, Ford fuel tank and a 3RZ swap if I had the cash and call it good. Rust? Who cares?! hahaha

I'm with ya. I wouldn't ever fit in it, but I get it. :)

What about an 80? I know you've had one before, but it fits most of your criteria, and the solid-axle ride isn't that bad. The MPG isn't awesome, but for the difference between a clean 80 and your Taco you could buy a lot of gas.

I've got an 04 150 4door. I put a leveling kit on and raptor take off wheels and tires (34.5 inches). Runs like a top 14mpg town, 18 hwy 12 towing. I've wheeled it lightly without issue. I'm in it under $11,000. Might be a good fit. It seems to have good ground clearance as it's set up.

Got any pics of your truck? We might be able to work out a deal swapping diffs and wheels and tires

Here are the pics. The wheels are from a newer 'Runner I believe. They're one of my favorite Toyota factory wheels. They look great powdercoated black, which is my plan for them.

I don't know of specific things to look out for. 2007 and up is a generation change with a slightly more powerful motor and quieter interior. You definitely want the 5.3.
