Help with rusty bolts

I need to change this winch plate but can't remove these 7/32 bolts. I have hit them with PB blaster and my not so great impact wrench with out success. Any ideas or can some one with a better impact give it a shot? I want to resell the plate and would like to stay away from the torch if possible.

you could heat up with a torch and pull it out without damaging the winch plate

Dang! Is that a star bolt? I hate those things when they get like that.

You could try throwing some heat on it from a oxy-acetylene, or a little bottle type. (I have heard that the yellow bottles produce a hotter flame if you try with those) I have done that before and it helped out.

Its a standard allen 7/32 head counter sunk bolt.

heat and cool rapidly. and a big impact.
I've had to cut mine out on my winch plate because they would only loosen like 5 turns. (luckily just enough to fit a cutoff wheel in between the plate and the winch).

You could use a drill in the middle of the allen and drill up through the bolt to weaken it then use a big breaker bar with the allen socket and shear it off.

All the kool kidz know that 50/50 acetone and atf is the ticket for freeing rusty bolts

I would kroil and heat, then kroil and heat until I stripped out that allen head. Then I would weld on a nut and try it again. If you put a drill on it, the head will come off easy enough, but then you have to deal with getting the rest of the bolt out of the hole. I Assume it is threaded and not held on with a nut on the back side right?

I've really been wanting to try this, but I haven't had a stuck bolt since I heard about it. Do this and let us know how it works!

I.M.O. the very best thing for taperhead bolts is a true impact you know the one you hit with a big hammer my reasoning is ...... it will put two directions of force on it at the same time a downward impact and rotational force for me it has worked even when my 650fpt air impact wouldnt touch them

Drill the head off of it, pull the plate off and then you can heat it up and get a pair if vice grips on it and twist it the remaining stud out

I think the "weld a nut to the head" trick will work best, and probably be the easiest assuming you have a welder. The heat from the weld usually breaks things loose, and the nut lets you put a wrench on it so you don'd have to worry about stripping the silly allen head. I'd use the largest diameter nut you can fit and still get a wrench on it. I like to use jam nuts for this, because the shallow depth lets you get the weld nice and hot on the head of the stripped bolt.

Do what driver920 and JLRockies said or use wd40 and the sledge driver. The sledge driver was the motorcyclist friend in the 50's.
