Long time lurker here. Looking for tips, tricks, general know how, trading knowledge/experience for beers and good conversation.Recently acquired a 1996 F150 beater that I would like to turn into a light duty wheeler/Fishing/camping rig. In an ideal world it would get Ford 1 tons, with a 4bt and a 5 speed...Never really worked on autos besides the basic maintenance stuff. If anyone could recommend some good reading material on where to start I would appreciate it...

Welcome to the board, sounds like a nice piece of old iron you've got on your side! Keeping the TTB down to a max of 33" tires is what I would recommend and also carry a spare external solenoid with ya.... my older ford broncos would eat them up! There's def lots of BS that happens on this board and at our camp fires, hopefully you can get out and do some camping and wheeling with some of us and we'll swap some of our own BS on the trail.
