This is located near a mine in AF Canyon that I have been researching... It is ~6" in diameter (at the top) and looks as if at one time it was hollow (filled with junk now).

Look familiar to anyone? Well head?

Maybe its an airvent, or airline?

Hmmm, I hadn't thought of that... There really isn't a mine shaft below it (that I know of). It is at the site of an old cabin, a ways off from the actual mine. I was almost thinking it could have been a septic tank but considering the mine was last worked in the early 1900's I doubt they were too worried about closed septic systems...

i am guessing a well head of some sort.

Its particular shape is kindve odd (too me at least), I was hoping someone here had seen one in use somewhere else... I guess a well head is the most likely option...

It's a water well.

Have you seen others in your travels Shawn? You have probably been to this too.. its near the Midwest Tunnel (just south of Miller Hill and a block or so West of SB's property). You can drive right too it off of the Miller Hill trail...:)

Saw one like that on a Home Inprovment show. They slide a pump and hose down into it. I haven't noticed that one.
