Honeymoon Ideas??

We got married & honeymooned in Hawaii.

Like everyone else said, go with the flow, don't have a preplanned schedule. We had a blast exploring places few people see, I really enjoyed the Jeep Unlimited we rented and drove for a week.

Hawaii was crowded in spots, but it was great. I don't think I would have done much diffrent, except try not get really sick and then getting a bad sunburn from laying out at the beach. If those things wouldn't have happened we would have gone scuba diving & kayaking up one of the rivers.

BTW, congrats on the future marriage. :hickey:

I went on that Carnival Riviera cruise last year. It was awesome what i can remember of it. I think i consumed more alcohol in that one week than i have in a month. we did at least one or two of the excersions at each stop and had a blast. So i would definately go if you have the chance.

Yep, what he said...we went to Hawaii for 10 days and didn't have a single thing planned when we arrived. As we felt like doing something we did it. I loved Hawaii and plan to go back real soon. Something that would be a little more exotic, but not a lot more coin is a trip to Fiji. We plan to visit there in prolly the next year. FWIW, a cruise is prolly one of the cheaper options (depending of course). To give you an idea we spent a little over $8K on our trip to Hawaii, like I said though, whatever we wanted to do we did it, no matter the cost.
I went to Hawaii for 10 days in May as well. Stayed most of the time in Maui but went to Honolulu for 2 days to fit in Pearl Harbor and a couple of things. I loved it and we're planning to return for our 2 year anniversary. Maui was awesome and there was always something to do. We snorkeled every day right off the beach by the hotel and we were always encountering grey sharks and turtles.

Another cool idea that the wife wasn't up for was to go to New Zealand and rent an RV and travel throughout both islands. You can get a great package including airfare and the RVs are some nicely outfitted MB Unimog-like models.

I would have to agree to make your first aniversary the awesome one. I think that it gives the two of you more time to be together and figure out what the two of you would really like to do. :D
(Unless you have a baby by your first Anniversary. )

Kurt,
We did the western carribean out of ft lauderdale for our honeymoon. Can't wait to go back. 7 days 4 stops, about perfect. great food, etc. Waking up almost everyday in a new place to without the need to pack and un pack all the time. Snokeled, a couple times, rented a scooter, didn't plan a thing until the night before. :D

We went on Royal Carribean, which worked out great, there were a lot of older retired people so the crazy "young people" stuff was always available and the shore excursions were never booked. From what I hear the little extra money for Royal Carribean is worth it. I have been two cruises now since jan 04 and want to go again.

Good Luck and Congrats,

I would go to costa rica. Airfair is pretty cheap, the exchange is favorable, lots of beaches, and beautiful mountains to explore. Less crowds and less tourist based.

An attorney I work with has been to both Hawaii and Costa Rica in the past year, and he preferred CR for the same reasons.

We want to go out there again but with a bigger group. Almost lost my jeep a couple of times and it was just the two of us.
