I went to Hawaii for 10 days in May as well. Stayed most of the time in Maui but went to Honolulu for 2 days to fit in Pearl Harbor and a couple of things. I loved it and we're planning to return for our 2 year anniversary. Maui was awesome and there was always something to do. We snorkeled every day right off the beach by the hotel and we were always encountering grey sharks and turtles.Supergper said:Yep, what he said...we went to Hawaii for 10 days and didn't have a single thing planned when we arrived. As we felt like doing something we did it. I loved Hawaii and plan to go back real soon. Something that would be a little more exotic, but not a lot more coin is a trip to Fiji. We plan to visit there in prolly the next year. FWIW, a cruise is prolly one of the cheaper options (depending of course). To give you an idea we spent a little over $8K on our trip to Hawaii, like I said though, whatever we wanted to do we did it, no matter the cost.
(Unless you have a baby by your first Anniversary. )Barbie said:I would have to agree to make your first aniversary the awesome one. I think that it gives the two of you more time to be together and figure out what the two of you would really like to do.
An attorney I work with has been to both Hawaii and Costa Rica in the past year, and he preferred CR for the same reasons.Cody said:I would go to costa rica. Airfair is pretty cheap, the exchange is favorable, lots of beaches, and beautiful mountains to explore. Less crowds and less tourist based.
